400 Years of Academic Excellence.

Kyiv-Mohyla Academy Celebrated its 400th anniversary in 2014.

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY “KYIV-MOHYLA ACADEMY” (NaUKMA) leads Ukraine’s reforms in higher education.

Established in 1615 by the academic and religious leader Petro Mohyla, and the wealthy donor Halshka Hulevychivna, the Kyiv- Mohyla Academy was one of the largest centers of scholarship in Eastern Europe. After almost a century of closure by Soviet authorities, the Academy was re-established in 1991 with the paramount mission of educating the future leaders for the newly independent nation. Strong support of Ukrainians throughout the world, the generosity of donors in Ukraine, and international grants provided assistance for rebuilding the university in the beginning stages and also throughout the years.

Today the university provides an education that meets the highest international standards, leads educational reform and innovation in Ukraine, and produces alumni that lead the country’s top business, political, and civic institutions
