KMA students met with renowned Azov battalion members

When entrants come to Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, one of the main advantages of the university they name is its strong community. KMA students breathe life into our Academy even during summers when the educational process stops for the holiday. In June, our students have already celebrated their Convocation and arranged a charitable festival continuing the tradition of the legendary “VyVykh” in Lviv.

Moreover, on June 30 KMA Student Board arranged a meeting with Azov battalion members, which took place on the KMA campus. The renowned Azov battalion emerged as a volunteer military unit under the National Guard of Ukraine in 2014 and then, developed into one of the most effective and experienced battalions. Students had a unique opportunity to talk to the heroes Bohdan “Tavr” Korotevych, “Kil’”, listen to their story firsthand, and ask questions. These fighters overcame numerous heavy battles, including the defense of Mariupol, russian capture, and after their come back they continued to fight for Ukrainian independence.
